Aquatic Weed Control & Weed Cutting

Aquatic Weed Control

Aquatic plants play a genuine role in healthy watercourses — providing habitat and food for wildlife, stabilising riverbanks, and absorbing pollutants. But when certain species take hold and spread unchecked, they can quickly compromise the health, appearance and function of a pond, lake or river.

Aquatic Solutions UK provides professional aquatic weed control across watercourses of all sizes, helping restore balance and keep your water in good condition.

If your aquatic weeds have got out of control and you need a helping hand, then you can give us a call on 01788 810614, or fill out our contact form today.

Problems Caused By Invasive Aquatic Plants

While aquatic plants certainly have their place in ponds and lakes, some invasive species can cause a range of problems, including:

Aquatic Weed Removal

Once invasive weed has become well established, lighter-touch methods such as hand-pulling or herbicide treatment are rarely sufficient. Mechanical removal is usually required — and our Truxor amphibious machines are ideally suited to the task.

Truxors are frequently preferred over conventional plant and machinery because of their low ground pressure, minimal site disturbance, and ability to access areas that larger machines cannot reach. Fitted with 3 or 4 metre cutter bars capable of cutting to depths of around 6 feet, they can clear large areas of dense weed efficiently — whether on a small lake or an extensive stretch of river.

Once cut, the Truxor is fitted with a rake attachment to collect floating weed and deposit it on the bank. Leaving cut material on the bankside for a short period allows invertebrates and other pond life to return to the water before disposal — a simple but important step in minimising ecological impact.
