Since this was a new kind of project for me, I found great relief in being able to trust the intelligent planning and care taken throughout the project; for example, the contouring of the debris and silt round the perimeter of the pond actually improves the site when it could have so easily looked a dire mess; willow tree stumps were removed from where they were growing in the water and in the way; the bottom layer of the pond was levelled out; tape was put across the main access points for safety while the pond and its surroundings settle.
All in all, outstanding work and a great success: a big ’thank you’ to everyone involved! Instead of endlessly trying to catch up before it overwhelmed our efforts, we are now in a position to go ahead with better management and make appropriate improvements to the conservation area. The ducks are also pleased!”

The main problem was the depth of lake surrounded by shallow waters caused by years of fallen branches, tree trunks, rotten leaves. Michael Stretton came with the solution. The team arrived with a digger and container for the sludge stationed outside the lake. And a really amazing amphibian vehicle, looking more like an army tank, and a large boat. The amphibian vehicle was fitted with a sophisticated digger, which would dive in to the water and then transfer the sludge on to the boat. When full, the boat will go back to the base, to be emptied and dredging material transferred to our field. I will highly recommend Mike Stretton’s Aquatic Solutions team for any dredging job in the UK. This is a genuine note of thanks and I will be personally happy to answer any questions.”

“The large pool was becoming choked by Phragmites australis, more commonly known as Norfolk Reed, and I decided decisive action was needed to stop it before it covered the entire surface. Research online led me to a firm called Aquatic Solutions. They arrived early on Tuesday morning with amazing machines. I spent far more time than I could spare watching them at work, mesmerized by their co-ordinated teamwork as they steadily and methodically dug up the weeds and transported them to the bank. There was very little mess, the ducks, coots and moorhens continued as if nothing was happening, and gradually the pool re-emerged, as if liberated and revealed in all its glory, sparkling in the sunshine.  Aquatic Solutions were brilliant. “After purchasing new premises we realised we needed to restore previously neglected lakes and grounds to their former splendour to make a fitting backdrop for the prestigious offices sited beside them.
